Emalahleni community gathers to reflect on human rights and democracy

The Labour Party brought the community together in celebration of Human Rights Day.

The Labour Party in Emalahleni recently hosted a Human Rights Day mini rally to educate the community more about the importance of the day.

Held on March 21 at Vosman Hall, the event featured the party’s leader, Joseph Mathunjwa, who informed the community more about human rights and reflected on the progress made since the start of democracy.

Marking the first of its kind to be hosted by the Labour Party since their Heritage Day celebration last year, the event saw an incredible attendance by members of the community of Emalahleni.

“The community came in numbers to support and be part of the event,” said Springs John, a member of the party.

“We are not against any political party, but we are saying, the power is in your hands, and anything is possible with God. May God bless South Africa.”

Everyone attested to the success of the event, which also featured some entertaining performances.

“The event was a resounding success, everything went well,” Springs said.
