Dads and their sons take to the field at HTS

The function has become a tradition for the male figures to spend time together and connect at a deeper level.

HTS recently hosted an exciting evening that brought together fathers and sons around Emalahleni to bond through games and exciting activities.

According to Sonet Botha, one of the organisers, the gathering on April 28 is part of a new tradition that started last year, enabling fathers and sons to have a bit more connection with each other and participate together.

The event featured a motivational speaker and lots of fun activities, including arm wrestling, ball kicking, and a quiz, among others.

Alex Botha, the school head boy, explained that the function was more than just about raising funds, but also carried a deeper purpose that aimed to transform boys’ lives.

“Many people see it as a fundraiser, I also see it like that, but most importantly, I see it as a connection because we have a lot of families that don’t get along,” Alex said.

“Through this initiative, we want the children to realise how important it is for someone to have a dad by their side because personally, I have realised that without my parents, I would’ve never made it this far.”
