Generosity flows at Del Forno as organisations partner for blanket drive

Different organisations spent a day at Del Forno, where they collected blankets and groceries for the community of eMalahleni.

Solidariteit Helpende Hand in eMalahleni joined forces with Del Forno, Liquor City, the Witbank Bikers Council, and Witbank Virago to collect blankets for the less privileged in the city.

The initiative, known as a blanket drive, saw the organisations collecting donations at Del Forno on June 27.

Not only did community members bring blankets, but they also donated various grocery items, which will be distributed to those who need them most in eMalahleni.

“Everything went well, and we’re very grateful to the community for showing up and giving so much,” said Zoë Kemp from Helpende Hand.“We weren’t expecting their hearts to be this open.”

The organisers said the community’s response exceeded their expectations and their donations will make a significant difference.

“We’re very grateful. It’s going to help a lot of people this winter,” Zoë said.
