Young soccer players developed
The South African Football Association (SAFA) said one of its aims is to develop young players.
SAFA has launched two new junior leagues, using funding from the 2010 FIFA World Cup Legacy Trust.
The lauch comes after the financial results from SAFA showed the governing body made a loss of R54.4m despite receiving R113m from the Legacy Trust to help develop the sport in the country.
With SAFA dreams locally, a group of football people also have the same passion by trying to develop youngsters. They are playing their part and believe in what they are doing.
These people are tying to create a league for u.15. The name of the league is known as eMalahleni Local Football Association Development League. The league so far has eight teams. They play every weekend at the same ground from 10:00 till 15:00.
“We are trying to parent these children not to do the wrong things. We want them not to use drugs and abuse alcohol at a young age. We also teach them life skills,” reads a statement from the organisers.
The league is coordinated by Sjpho Themba.
They have teams like Sukumani United FC, Slow Masuku the Hawk, Vikings FC, Phutiqolo FC and Masinga FC
The organisers need any help they can get to help these youngsters to reach their dreams as well.
