WATCH: Marsha Muller smashes 200km in 24 hours

Richards Bay's golden girl sets new South African record

SHE went, she ran, she conquered.

Richards Bay ultra runner Marsha ‘The Machine’ Muller reached – and surpassed – her 200km goal at the IAU 24-hour World Championships in Albi, France this weekend.

Marsha went into the weekend with a goal of breaking the South African record of 197km and go on to set a new record of 200km.

She smashed the South African record with just over half an hour to spare this morning (Sunday), and went on to set the new record of 202.196km by the time the final baton fell to mark the end of the event at 10am.

Marsha fared well throughout the 24 hours, reporting only some blisters during the course of the night, and appeared in good spirits upon crossing the finish line.
