Sewage waste makes it difficult for players to use courts

Players cannot play at the basketball court in Ext Six

Kwa-Thema – Basketball players from Kwa-Thema who usually play their sport at Molefe Park in Ext Six cleaned up the court after sewage flooded it.

Lerato Molwelang, a player, said they could not play on the court after the flood, but since the draining of the sewage, it is still impossible to play on it.

The sewage waste remains in the park, and it is during the school holidays that children what to keep busy.

“We are unemployed, therefore, going to the park keeps us busy and away from doing bad things such as crime and drugs,” he said.

Molwelang and his friend, Nhlanhla Kamogelo Molefe, decided to clean up their court, calling the campaign ‘Abuti Clean Up’, which will start on Monday.

They requested the community to help with the cleaning.

They also request those with the means to assist with cleaning materials. Call Molwelang on 067 102 7518.
