Pholosong Hospital’s male employees discussed their health

“Most men find it difficult to talk about money worries because they associate money with their success as individuals or as a mark of their character.”

Tsakani – The Pholosong Regional Hospital’s Employees Health & Wellness Programme’s Men’s Forum held a joint men’s health event on Friday.

Male employees at the hospital attended the event to discuss issues related to men’s health, sexual health and financial health.

The topic was the impact of technology and social media on mental health.

Stelo Mdalana addresses the attendees.

These platforms had pleasurable activities linked to sex, food and social interaction, which tend to be addictive and often result in anxiety, depression and loss of money.

They covered the importance of circumcision because it prevented the risks of sexually transmitted diseases.

Mental health was identified as an area of concern because men tend to be reluctant to talk about their mental health and are more likely to die by suicide than females. Speaker of the day from Capital Legacy, Stelo Mdalana, touched on financial wellness.
