The Unified Scout Group invites you to join their group in Kwa-Thema

He became a patrol leader at 14 and, at 16, a troop leader. At 18, he was a junior assistant troop scouter.

Kwa-Thema – Young people in Kwatsaduza are encouraged to join the scouting movement, the Unified Scout Group.

It caters for various age groups – Meerkats from five to seven years, Cubs from seven to 10 years, Scouts from 11 to 18 years and Rovers from 18 to 30 years.

This movement is open to anyone interested in joining the group. They meet every Saturday at 11:00 at the Unified Scout Group, 9936 Wauchope Steet (corner Lesia) in Kwa-Thema.

Sharing his experience in the field, Thokozani Mkhatshwa from Unified Scout said he could not imagine his life without scouting.

“I joined SCOUTS South Africa in 2009 when I was 12, and my life was never the same again.

“My journey started at Zamani Primary School. I joined the Unified Scout Group in 2010 when it was in Dunnottar,” he said.

He became a patrol leader at 14 and, at 16, a troop leader. At 18, he was a junior assistant troop scouter.

Mkhatshwa is the assistant troop scouter and the Rover treasurer at the Unified Scout Group. He added that he would like to use the opportunity to pass down his skills and knowledge to other young Scouts, Rovers and the community.

“I aim to bring together young people and keep them away from drugs and violence,” he added.
