Kwa-Thema – Young Achievers United Ladies recently played against JVW in the Sasol league match, provincial league.
Young Achievers United ladies won their first match in the league. The team won 2-1. The team’s chairperson, Lazarus Malatji said their game started a bit slow and shaky.
“We struggled to make accurate passes and lost possession too easily, which allowed the opposition to put us under pressure.
“As a result, we found ourselves trailing by one goal,” he said.
“At halftime, I encouraged the players to give their all and not focus on the fact that we were 1-0 down.”
Malatji cited that he reminded his player to play with heart, believe in themselves, and keep fighting until the final whistle.

“The second half was much better. We introduced some pacy players who made a positive impact on the game.
“Their energy and movement helped us create more opportunities and put the opposition on the back foot,” he added.
He praised his team for displaying great character and determination, eventually turning the game around to secure a well-deserved 2-1 victory.
“Although we are happy with the result, we have identified areas that need improvement. We are a little unfit at the moment and tend to get tired easily during matches.
“Going forward, we need to train harder and improve our fitness levels. As a number 10 player, I was pleased with the team’s performance and contribution,” he cited.
“Most importantly, I am very happy because we collected all three points and showed resilience to come back from behind and win the game.”
