Despite the crippling impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Alberton High School’s class of 2020 has again hoisted the school’s flag high.
Alberton High School was extremely proud to announce a 98 percent pass rate for the 2020 academic year.
The school attained a bachelor’s pass rate of 77 percent, a diploma pass rate of 21 percent, and a higher certificate pass of seven percent, while B symbols were 318.
The combined subject average of all learner results summed up to 60 percent aggregate.
Jannie Olivier, the school principal, congratulated the learners for their hard work and commitment. The cream of the school, Khumo Jea, who attained six distinctions, said she obtained these results through hard work and sacrifice.
“I’m surprised to have received such results, it took me sleepless nights and a lot of focus to attain this. I have been accepted to study at the University of the Witwatersrand, specialising in medicine. I would advise learners in lower grades to compete with themselves and work hard,” she said.
Kaitlyn Meirowitz and Lebohang Molapi, also top achievers, told the RECORD that they were excited about their achievements.
