Possible delays in Alberton refuse collection service

Clr Malcolm Maifala-Masebe advises Alberton residents of possible delays in refuse collection service.

Residents throughout the Alberton area should be aware of delays in the refuse collection service.

Cllr Malcolm Maifala-Masebe said this morning, August 22 that the Waste Department is still dealing with the backlog of waste collection.

“According to the Alberton depot, there are four trucks available in-house and expecting two extra trucks from the service provider,” said Maifala-Masebe.

Maifala-Masebe stated that waste would not be collected as per schedule as the department will first be completing Friday areas.

Indication of when the regular collection schedule will be followed has not been addressed.

“I will update on which areas will be collected as and when I receive that information.” added Maifala-Masebe.
