THE Kenneth Gardens Youth Society (KGYS) hosted a basketball tournament at the tennis courts in Ray Keyte Place, off Sphiwe Zuma (Queen Mary) Avenue, Umbilo on Friday.
The KGYS, chaired by Mo Msibi, was recently granted permission by the municipality to make use of the courts and the intrepid team managed to get basketball hoops sponsored.
The day was action-packed, with local basketball teams going up against each other in games. The community supported the players and were also able to browse the car boot sale and enjoy refreshments and boerewors rolls.
During the holidays the courts will be open from 10am to 3pm for basketball and netball coaching.
