Rotary Club of Durban awards Glenwood community servant

The selfless and tireless community work of a Glenwood resident has not gone unnoticed. For all the years and heart she has put into improving her surroundings, the Rotary Club of Durban has recognised her for a special community service award.

FOR fulfilling the the Rotary Club of Durban’s motto “Service above All”, Heather Roos was recently presented with the 2025 Community Service Award.

According to the Rotary Club of Durban president, Rydal Spavins, Roos has a distinct passion for service for the community and is deserving of the accolade.
Roos, a household name in community involvement in the Bulwer area, shared her excitement, “I am extremely honoured and grateful to have been selected by the Rotary Club of Durban to receive this special certificate of recognition for all my years of community work.

“I am very passionate about doing and being directly involved in projects that uplift our community. As a resident and homeowner in this community, I know I have to at least try to do what I can to at least make some difference, and in doing I hope it helps others in this community as well.

“A big thank you to the Rotary Club of Durban for all their outstanding work and all the good they too do for our community as well,” shared Roos.
The Rotary Club of Durban is looking for residents of all ages who are interested in serving the community to join the club in a bid to expand its membership. They meet every Tuesday at the Berea Bowling Club.
