The Wright way to go at Greyville

Trainer Alyson Wright has had a bit of a frustrating time of late, failing narrowly to make it into the winner’s circle on a few occasions in the past month. That looks likely to change at Greyville on Monday, when eight races will be decided on the Polytrack.
Wright saddles five runners on the day and four of them could win.
Vegas Gold in Race 1 leads the charge and is likely to start as favourite in the Maiden Plate over 1000m. The three-year-old has been showing steady improvement since being gelded in early September and should be ready to open his account under leading jockey Warren Kennedy.
His challengers will be Global Path, Alma Mater and La Fille.
Wright’s next attempt comes in the third race with Ralph The Rascal, who has a tougher task than his stable mate – with the likes of consistent Born To Perform and maturing youngster Conquer The Enemy in opposition.
However, he is having his third run after a break and returns to his best course and distance after failing to justify favouritism last time out on turf.
Royal Kitty in Race 6 is one of the better bets on the card and could be a Bipot and PA banker.
The five-year-old daughter of Duke Of Marmalade is well overdue a second career win, with a string of close-up finishes after returning from a nine-month injury layoff. Kennedy is charged with hauling the mare into the No 1 box.
Qaaraat in Race 7 is a longer shot but went down by only a neck at Scottsville during the week – from a wide draw over 1400m – to show she is fighting fit and regaining confidence after not winning for more than a year. In-form Keagan de Melo rides.
