According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend (May 2, 3 and 4):

Friday

Three businesses were burgled.

Computers and electronic goods were stolen from companies situated along Hastings Avenue, Lemmer Road, in Vulcania, and Gate Street, in Brenthurst.

A Hamilton Avenue resident was hijacked of his motorbike when he arrived home at about 11pm.

The man had stopped at the gate and opened it, when he was struck with a fist.

One robber climbed onto the bike (make and model unknown) and sped away, while another robbed the resident of his bag and fled the scene on foot.

The man discovered shortly afterwards that his home had been broken into and a DVD player and a television set had been stolen.

In addition, tools were stolen from the back of a bakkie parked on the premises.

Saturday

A Dalpark resident was robbed of her handbag by two men in the driveway of her home.

The woman arrived at her Langenhoven Street address at about 4.30pm and was parking her car when two men, armed with guns, approached her.

They pointed the firearms at her, grabbed her handbag and then fled in a silver Mercedes Benz.

The handbag contained cash, a cellphone, personal documents and bank cards.

A woman was hijacked along Curtis Street, in Brenthurst, at about 4.45pm.

The woman had visited a family member at the address and was leaving, when she noticed a white Mercedes Benz stopping behind her.

One of the occupants alighted the vehicle and pulled her out of her own car — a silver Renault Megane.

He pointed a black pistol at her and demanded her jewellery.

The hijacker robbed her of an expensive ring before climbing into her car and driving off.
