What about our rights?

J Zietsman from Anzac writes: The DA is correct when they say that the squatters cannot just be kicked off the land they are currently occupying illegally.

But why are only selective laws/rules/ordinances being enforced?

Do tax-paying residents of Brakpan, specifically Anzac, not have any rights?

Surely the burning of the plastic is a contravention of the pollution ordinance, why is this not enforced?

Surely the littering that takes place in the squatter camp is a contravention of an ordinance?

Surely the entering of the dump and scavenging is against an ordinance?

But none of these are enforced.

Why are rules/ordinances only selectively applied?

I would like to suggest that if the squatters are refused access to the dump, which the authorities are within their rights to enforce, within a month the squatters would have moved.
