This is especially true at the intersection with traffic lights next to VC Spar.
Coming from the circle, the right lane indicates you have to drive straight or turn left, and the right lane is supposed to be a mandatory right turn — but every single morning drivers ignore the turn only road sign and drive straight through.
This happened again this morning (October 1) and, as I was changing lanes from the left to the right, in order to turn right after the traffic light, a light blue vehicle with a learner’s sign in the back window came chasing past the left turn sign and then hooted at me for changing lanes.
This young gentleman then followed me as I turned, stopped next to me and asked if I was bleeping mad.
Yes, sir, if following the rules of the road and adhering to road signs makes me bleeping mad, then I am.
You asked if I don’t care about my kids.
Well again, yes sir, I do care about my children, which is why I obey all traffic signs.
Then there was your very polite comment about killing me right now, here, today.
Dear sir, if my children weren’t in the car with me, you can rest assured I would’ve made you follow through on that threat.
I consider myself to be a lady, but a threat on my life because you drive like a hooligan will surely bring my fight or flee instincts to the surface and I would not be fleeing.
I once again repeat my words to you: it’s people like you who cause accidents and then walk away unharmed while others are left with the devastation for which you are to blame.
Would it be too much to ask the Metro Police to actually sit for a day and see for themselves how many drivers disobey this simple road sign, and maybe just maybe act on it?
