WH celebrates second birthday

Last week WH Auctioneers had two reasons to celebrate – wrapping up their second year in business with two very successful auctions for heavy engineering and fabrication equipment combined with small plant-hire machines.

One of the most sought-after items at the auction, a late model heavy duty 8m Lathe with a 1.8m swing sold for R875 000, whilst a 2007 Bystronic Byvention 3015 Laser Cutter sold for R660 000.

Mathew Henderson said: “We had some incredibly competitive bidding on the earthmoving and heavy engineering equipment but we found bidding on the sheet metal items on a slight decline in comparison to other auctions.”

WH had a big turn-out of customers from all over the country, especially Durban. Henderson said: “We offer a free shuttle service from the Marlboro Gautrain station to our premises in Linbro Park and we’re finding this is really making it easy for customers to get to us.”

Since its inception, WH has built a solid and reputable brand in a very short amount of time. In such a competitive industry, where new players often come and go, WH founders Shannon Winterstein and Henderson have good reason to celebrate.

In just two short years the company has doubled its staff and found their niche in construction, manufacturing and transport, yet they haven’t lost their ethos.

Winterstein said: “You will still find Mathew and I on the auction floor doing what we love. It is this personal attention that sets us apart and we would like to thank our buyers and sellers for their continued support.”

Customers can look forward to WH’s next construction auction on August 27.
