REGISTRATION AND DRAW PROCEDURE AT SANSUI SUMMER CUP

(30 NOVEMBER 2013, TURFFONTEIN RACECOURSE)

  1. Registration for the draw will begin at 13:00 and end at 14:00 on 30 November 2013 at Turffontein Racecourse.
  2. No late registrations will be accepted under any circumstances.
  3. Failing to register between the above-mentioned times and/or failing to produce a valid South African ID will result in your immediate disqualification from the draw. No exceptions will be made under any circumstances.
  4. Finalists must be at the registration and draw in person, no substitutions are allowed.
  5. Upon registration each finalist will receive a draw ticket, which will consist of two sections. One section of the draw ticket will be kept by the finalist and the other half will be placed into a draw box.
  6. Finalists will need to report to The Citizen gazebo outside the entrance of the MTV Sound Experience brought to you by Bain’s Cape Mountain Whiskey at 16:30 (time can change, depending on race schedule).
  7. Finalists will then draw caps according to the order in which their draw tickets are drawn from the entry box.
  8. Each cap will bear the name on it of a horse that will be running in the SANSUI Summer Cup main race.
  9. Only finalists from the Sansui Summer Cup and The Citizen competition may draw a cap – no exceptions will be made.
  10. The above prize allocation is subject to no dead heat.
  11. In the case of a dead heat the finalists who drew those two horses will be entered into a third draw.  How the third draw will work:  The numbers one and two will be placed in a hat.  Whoever draws number one wins first prize and whoever draws number two wins second prize.
  1. The finalist who draws the horse that comes first in the SANSUI Summer Cup main race wins first prize (Home furnishings  & appliances to the value of R50 000.00).
  2. The finalist who draws the horse that comes second in the SANSUI Summer Cup main race wins the second prize (Home furnishings & appliances to the value of R15 000.00)
  3. The finalist that draws the horse that comes third in the SANSUI Summer Cup main race wins the third prize (SANSUI product hamper to the value of R10 000.00).
  4. All other finalists win the consolation prizes.
  • Definition of a dead heat:  a dead heat would be declared when more than one horse cross the finish line at the same time. If there is no photograph available due to a failure of the photo-finish camera or if, in the sole opinion of the judge, the images on the photograph are indistinct, then the judge may have recourse to the race film to satisfy himself as to the correctness of the placings.
  1. In the case of a horse(s) being scratched:  The cap, with the horse’s name, which is racing in the SANSUI Summer Cup main race, will still be in the bag for the initial draw.  Should a finalist draw a scratched horse, they will win a consolation prize.
  2. In the case of a horse(s) finishing without a jockey:  That horse does not constitute a win nor a place and therefore the finalist who drew that horse(s) will receive a consolation prize.
  3. Should a finalist not be present for the draw at the specified time and their name and number are called, they will then automatically have to wait until the end of the draw to make their selection.
  4. The winners of the three main prizes need to remain at the draw area for a period of 30 minutes after the draw has taken place due to a photo opportunity with the JD Group.
  1. Any violation or attempt to violate any of the above rules will result in the immediate disqualification of the transgressor.
