Big Brother Mzansi lovers could be winners

If social media is anything to go by, "Ace" and "Ntombi" could be the winners of the second season of Big Brother Mzansi.

The couple, whose real names are Nkanyiso Khumalo and Ntombifuthi Tshabalala, have won the hearts of many Big Brother Mzansi fans with what seems like an authentic romance.

The two met five years ago on a sidewalk and have a son together. They decided to enter Big Brother in the hope the show would launch their careers in the entertainment industry.

Though their musical talents are questionable, the two have been entertaining viewers by just being themselves. Ace is that energetic and funny kasi guy and Ntombi, a sweet and seemingly naive woman, is also not shy to speak her mind.

But the couple that will win is the one able to entertain and convince viewers they really need the money. South African viewers don’t like voting for contestants who they believe are well off. Last year’s winner, Mandla Hlatshwayo, did this by frequently telling his housemates how he would expand his spaza shop if he won the competition. This made it easy for viewers to vote for him.

But the adored couple has not been without problems. A few weeks ago, Ace shocked viewers when he angrily pulled Ntombi by the leg during a challenge. This led many people to believe Ace was abusive towards Ntombi behind closed doors.

But this died down very quickly and the two went back to being the show’s favourite couple.

Ace and Ntombi may be in the lead in the Big Brother game, but K2 (Katlego Mabusela) and Blue (Thandi Mbombo) are not too far behind from them. The two entered the reality competition as individuals and decided to pair up. Their ability to strategise and win challenges is what will keep them in the competition for a long time – not their personalities.

Friends Chelsea Humphrey and Mbali Nkosi are perhaps the hardest working couple on the show – and their fans are starting to notice. With no romantic links in the house, the two are very focused on the competition – working hard on every challenge and forming alliances along the way.

But it would be a big surprise if the two made it to the final week of the competition. They lost a lot of fans when they refused to buy food for their housemates with the

R20 000 cash prize they received from a challenge – forcing everyone to survive on a liquid diet. Viewers said the two had no sense of ubuntu.
