A sense of humour is a must-have for Pieter-Dirk Uys’ latest live laughter comedy variant, Lockup/Lockdown, which has been running at Theatre On The Bay since 19 October, with the last show set to take place on 6 November.

He has enlisted the help of some of his (and his fans’) favourite personalities, including the iconic Evita Bezuidenhout, Nowell Fine, Willie Wikkelspies, Boris Johnson and others for the show and the idea is to let laughter help make sense of the crazy world we’re currently living in.

Celeste Ntuli’s Money and Men

In her first one-woman show since Black Tax four years ago (which is currently being aired on Showmax), Celeste Ntuli shares her hilarious views and poses some questions regarding the current Covid-19 pandemic, but also her take on how she has accepted her shortcomings in finding love whilst celebrating her achievements and successes in life.

The show takes place at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace from 12 to 13 November.

Comedy with Radio Raps’ #Wedirrit

Radio Raps' latest comedy show

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed so many things in life the past two years, with everyone battling to keep their heads above water whilst also attempting to stay sane. The South African life is unique, though and therefore South Africans’ way of dealing with the pandemic is also inevitably different to the rest of the world.

Talking about everyday issues during a pandemic is necessary, while you still need to be sensitive and try not to offend. Jonathan, also known as Radio Raps, is known for calling a spade a spade and in his new show, #Wedirrit, he opens up about how he experienced the Covid-19 pandemic. He describes the mental battles he had to fight, as well as what he learned from it in a way that only Jonathan can.

The audience can expect to face some hard facts and realise some inconvenient truths, while also enjoying a good laugh about personal faults and humanity in general.

Jonathan will present his all-new comedy show, #Wedirrit, at Carnival City, Mardi Gras from 18 to 20 November.
