Kgomotso Christopher open to new roles

“After this, I ‘m hopeful that I will be able to further showcase my skills, maybe in film or even on stage.”

While Kgomotso Christopher’s departure from Isidingo leaves fans disappointed, Christopher says it was just time to say goodbye. “I didn’t leave Isidingo for anything specific. My departure is just motivated by giving myself time and making myself available for auditions and accepting new roles and opportunities,” Christopher confirms.

The actress, whose final performance will air on April 13, says the years she has had with the drama series have allowed her to grow as an actress. “It was five magnificent years in a platform and space that allowed me to explore so many areas of my performance. Being part of the cast was a huge growth curve for my career,” she said.

Christopher says the diversity of the story exposed her to issues such as woman abuse, surrogacy, and mistress problems, allowing her to hone her abilities in her craft. “After this, I ‘m hopeful that I will be able to further showcase my skills, maybe in film or even on stage.”

In her role as Katlego Sibeko, Christopher has been one of the show’s anchors, adding to the series’ sustained success over the years. “We will miss and thank her for the pivotal and positive part she’s played,” says the Endemol Shine CEO, Sivan Pillay.

“Kgomotso’s talent, grace, charm and absolute professionalism will be missed by the cast, crew and fans alike. Apart from missing being part of one of the oldest drama series in Mzansi, Christopher says she will miss her fellow cast members, who were like friends and family to her.
