In this week’s royal update, Prince Charles is set to follow in Harry and Meghan’s footsteps with a career in the entertainment industry after bagging a TV deal. The Queen took a controversial wedding decision, which Princess Diana, Kate and Meghan decided against.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex received major backlash for flying home in a private jet after a global warming event, and Prince William was left shocked by Harry and Meghan’s decision to hide their son’s godparents identity.
In 1928, 20 years before Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip got married, the Church of England removed the promise to “obey” from wedding vows and made it optional for those who would still like to add it to their vows on their wedding day.
When the couple got married, Elizabeth made the controversial decision to include “obey” in her wedding vows, and she promised “to love, to cherish, and to obey” her husband throughout their marriage.
This decision to “obey” Prince Philip seemed strange as Elizabeth at that time would one day become queen, and would be married to a man who would be of a lower rank to her.
According to reports from that time, the queen chose to add “obey” to her wedding vows as a token of love and devotion to her new husband.
When Princess Diana, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle married into the royal family, they decided against making the promise to obey their husbands in their wedding vows.
Prince Charles has recently announced that he has collaborated with Amazon Prime Video to launch a new TV channel dedicated to conservation and sustainability, one of his greatest passions.

This comes months after his son Harry and Meghan were revealed to have signed a major deal with Netflix, which would allow them to produce different types of content and Netflix original shows.
The new channel aims to encourage individuals and businesses to be more proactive when it comes to making a change and moving towards a much more sustainable future.
“I’ve spent a lot of my lifetime trying to engage people and businesses with the issues and solutions of the climate crisis.
“RE:TV was therefore set up with the aim of capturing the will and imagination of humanity and champion the most inspiring solutions for sustainability from around the world.
“I hope that with this partnership with Prime Video we can bring these inspiring innovations and ideas to a wider audience and demonstrate together what is possible in the pursuit of a sustainable future,” said Charles.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a recent appearance at the Global Citizen Live concert which called for climate change action, and the two took the stage to demand tough new eco laws to be put in place to halve US emissions by the year 2030.

After the event, they jetted across the country in their private jet and were spotted landing in Santa Barbara where they embraced their team.
Speaking to The Sun, royal author Penny Junior said this was very hypocritical of Meghan and Harry, and she does not understand why the two did not take a scheduled flight, which Harry’s father has been known to do in the past.
“I do think this is hypocrisy. I’m sure there were plenty of scheduled flights. I do not understand why they are behaving as if they are superstars. His father has been known to take scheduled flights.
“His brother takes scheduled flights. This totally muddies the waters of their climate message. They are shooting themselves in the foot by taking private flights,” said Junior.
According to royal author and biographer Andrew Morton’s new book, Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, Prince William was left “perplexed” over why Meghan and Harry decided to hide the identity of their son, Archie’s godparents.
For many years, the royal family has had the tradition of making the identities of godparents public.
“Such secrecy was one of many issues that perplexed Prince William. He, like others inside the family, felt that those chosen to guide and counsel a future prince, seventh in line to the throne, should be identified,” reads a passage from the book.
