Some think I’m dumb or annoying because of my beauty – Jessica Nkosi

The actress says she isn't as tough as people presume but rather she shows her vulnerability to her family.

The Isibaya star, who left the soapie this year to pursue other interests has spoken about how being considered good looking has it’s pitfalls.

In an interview with Touch HD, Nkosi said she had to deal with misconceptions about her based on how she looked. Nkosi is considered one of SA’s most beautiful stars and regularly gets complimented on her looks as a result.

“Growing up as a young girl I saw that as someone who was considered pretty, the first thing that comes is that you think you are better. At the same time even as I get older I still see that. Some people think you are dumb, while others think you are annoying,” she said.

“I am a softie at heart, I may come off as being hard but I cry easily, but I only breakdown in front of certain people who won’t use my vulnerability against me.”

In an interview with Drum magazine, Nkosi said her portrayal of Mary in a new African gospel production was testing but her faith had seen her through the play.

“I couldn’t believe it when I got the part but because I pray for everything, I knew God would show up,” she said.
