I’m not making money from FillUpTheDome – Nyovest

Refiloe Maele Phoolo, popularly known as Cassper Nyovest, is on a mission to fill up the dome on the 31st of October when he launches his new album.

Nyovest started a countdown on Twitter, urging his fans to buy the tickets to his live performance as “they are running out”. Earlier today, the artist announced that there were 1000 more golden circle tickets released, after the initial count sold out.

Today, with 18 days left to the concert, he has announced that there are 4000 tickets left to fill up the dome which accommodates 20 000 people.

On the day of the show, Nyovest will give away his new album titled Refiloe to everyone who will have bought the ticket and attending the concert. As a result, the album will achieve gold status on the day of release.

What does this mean for the music industry?

Speaking at his press conference today, Nyovest announced BP and AG Mobile as his sponsors for the show. He further says: “I’m not making money from #FillUpTheDome….I’m losing money….but it’s about how I can inspire the kids to dream big.”

The cost to fill up the dome is R4.2m and revenue from a sold out show is +- R3m, according to Nyovest.
