Inside DJ Euphonik and Sizwe Dhlomo’s spicy Twitter exchange

Another day, another Twitter debate involving radio and TV personality Sizwe Dhlomo.

This time Sizwe set his sights on a post DJ Euphonik shared on Twitter.

“We have the same 24hrs mates!!!” the DJ tweeted.

His tweet suggested that we all have the same amount of time to work on our goals – no excuses!

But it seems Euphonik didn’t learn from Tbo Touch’s “homeless man” tweet in 2017.

Like Euphonik, Touch insinuated that all the man had to do to get out of poverty was change his thinking.

“The only difference between the guy I just drove pass begging in streets and myself is our mental disposition. Let’s change how we THINK,” he tweeted.

Twitter users rightfully roasted Touch for his ridiculous post.

Sizwe Dhlomo is one step ahead of Black Twitter this time around. He wasted no time challenging Euphonik’s tweet.

“Yes but we don’t have the same resources… A lumberjack with an axe & one with a chainsaw both have the same daylight. Who chops more though?” Sizwe hit back.

Euphonik was having none of it.

“How do you obtain those resources? You work and you stop moaning about your circumstances and you realise and appreciate that we ALL start somewhere. So choose how you spend your 24hrs.”

Sizwe did some digging and discovered that the DJ has done some moaning of his own in the past

“Okay, remember when you tweeted that a bank didn’t want to finance one of your properties in Sandhurst & you felt that it was unfair? Were you moaning then?

“Did you not have 24hrs? We all start somewhere yes, but there’s a person who didn’t have to argue with a bank about such.”

But Euphonik has an answer for that as well.

“I was moaning yes but I didn’t lie down I used the next 24 hrs to change that and didn’t give up. Just because the answer is no today doesn’t mean that’s cast in stone and is how it will always be. I have the will to use my 24hrs to change my life.”

Euphonik was clearly not getting the point Sizwe was trying to make. So he decided to spell it out for the DJ.

“The point here @euphonik is life is unfair. Some people start ahead of others. We need to appreciate this at all levels. This isn’t just about financial resources either BTW…”

You would think that would end the debate, but Euphonik had one more comeback.

“Life is very unfair but don’t make people feel like it’s unfair thus they must give up. I wasn’t born Euphonik and I’m not even 10% of the person I want to be and I’m not going to give myself excuses or boundaries based on my current unfair circumstances.”

The debate eventually died down, with Sizwe telling Euphonik in one tweet, “Okay… I hear you”.

But it seems social media users agreed more with Sizwe’s point of view than Euphonik’s.

“This is the same as that Tbo Touch tweet a while back, mense with money think the rest of us are just sitting and doing nothing with our time. We all want to attain that financial freedom mate, just don’t b cocky cos u already there (sic),” one tweep told Euphonik.
