Kylie Minogue: New album hasn’t been easy

Kylie Minogue admits it ''hasn't been easy'' making her new album and she has had to take risks when recording new material.

The ‘Celebration’ singer and judge on talent show ‘The Voice’ signed to Jay Z’s Roc Nation label a year ago and took risks on her next record which will be released after the series finishes.

She told The Sun newspaper: ”I actually didn’t know where I was going or what the future held at the end of 2012.

”There’s been a lot of change, this album is about taking the plunge and embracing the future and not holding on to things from the past.

”It wasn’t the easiest road but singing with Roc Nation, spending a lot of time in America and doing The Voice gave me a challenge and I needed that to feel reinvigorated.”

The pint-sized star, 45, said despite it being tough, making new music has been rewarding, and she will release her new single ‘Into The Blue’ in coming months before the album drops.

But after years as one of the world’s biggest pop stars, she admits she still worries about what people will think of her music.

She added: ”I always get nervous. I’ve invested a lot in this album, pretty much all of last year.

”I genuinely can’t wait for people to hear it. I want to deliver the gift and move to the next phase with it.”

Kylie will give fans a taste of the new material at a MasterCard Priceless gig in March.
