Tumi waves goodbye to Idols

The 20-year-old, first-year Music Theatre student was in the bottom three with London Louw and Lize Mynhardt this week.
Morobane stole the judges’ hearts at the Idols SA auditions in Pretoria and has impressed Randall Abrahams with almost every performance since.
Gareth Cliff said that of all the contestants she was the one who looked and sounded most like a pop star.
Last week’s theme on the talent competition was “Celebrating 20 years of Democracy.” The contestants had to perform songs which were popular in 1994.
Morobane chose Turn The Beat Around which was first performed by Vicki Sue Robinson in 1976.
Abrahams said that the only reason why Morobane was in the bottom three was because her song choice was from the Seventies and not the Nineties. Abrahams went on to predict that Louw (who sang Zombie by the Cranberries) would be the one going home.
While Morobane was disappointed about leaving the show, she promised that she would continue pursuing her dream of becoming a pop star.
“This is not the last time people are going to see me sing,” she said. “I have gained so much from my journey on Idols and I will use everything I have learnt to improve myself. I know what I am capable of, and I am going to work so much harder to convince the world that I’m a great performer.”
