AKA’s death strengthened family ties, says DJ Zinhle ahead of new season of her reality show
Third instalment of 'DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected' will premiere next week.

DJ Zinhle’s reality TV show has received a green light for another season.
The internationally renowned DJ and businesswoman told The Citizen a lot will unfold in the new season.
“In past seasons, we had a mix of family, work, and many other things. You will still see all the other elements, but this time around, I feel like everything gets tied back to the centre of the family.
“The passing of Kiernan [“AKA” Forbes] has made us so aware of how important family is. So, we make sure we spend time and feel the love as family.”
Season 3 of DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected will premiere on Saturday on BET Africa DStv Channel 129.
Speaking about how the show has contributed to her growth as a media personality, Zinhle said while she has been famous for a while, she believes the show has given people more access to her.
“It has made my relationship with my supporters more intimate, and I think that has given me access to a new market that I didn’t have access to before.”

Balancing busy schedule with quality family time
Zinhle said her family, especially her husband, gives her tremendous support. She said she works with her family on many of her projects, and this made it easier for her.
“My children have amazing grandmothers who are very involved. So my balance comes from the support I get from my family, which is something I wish other women had.”
A few days ago, Zinhle celebrated her daughter Asante’s second birthday. She said her role as a mother had evolved so much ever since she became a mother of two.
“When I was a mother of one, I had a driver. I was living my best life, but as a mother of two, life has become expensive and demanding. I drive myself full-time now. As a wife, I have a very supportive husband. We love each other a lot, and he makes my role as a wife easy.”
