Sci-fi and horror movie fans will know that this year will see the release of The Predator, the latest instalment in the film franchise about nasty aliens who come to earth to bag prey.
Written and directed by Shane Black (he who penned Lethal Weapon and wrote and directed Iron Man 3), The Predator is positioned as a sequel to the first two films in the franchise and is set for release on September 18th.
News about the film has been scarce – the cast and basic plot have been revealed, but there’s been scant footage available. A teaser dropped earlier this year, but it didn’t really set the world on fire.
Perhaps looking to remedy this, a full fat trailer has been released and it brings the pain quite admirably. Look away now if you’re squeamish.
It seems Black is doubling down with the new trailer, which features not just one, but two of the alien killers. The film stars Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan), Olivia Munn (The Newsroom, X-Men: Age Of Apocalypse) and a large crowd of bruisers who will presumably be turned into sashimi by the titular alien.
Fun fact: Shane Black appeared in the first Predator film as Hawkins, the first member of Dutch’s (Arnold Schwarzenegger) military team that the creature eviscerated.
