Primrose SAPS captain retires after 38 years of dedicated service

Today, he is married to Ntombizodwa Caroline Masha, and blessed with four children, two boys and two girls.

Captain Matshane Godfrey Masha, a dedicated member of the SAPS, has bid farewell to Primrose SAPS.

His hanging of the boots came after 38 years and two days of service in the force.

Born and raised in a small village of Ga-Moretsele in Limpopo, he attended a primary school bearing the same name.

Like many coloured people in the 80s, he opted to look for a teaching job for two years after matriculating in 1985.

On February 26, 1988, he joined the SAPS training as a constable, reporting at OR Tambo SAPS.

He later transferred to Elsburg, Zonkesizwe, Katlehong, and Germiston SAPS and later became a sergeant.

The late Colonel Fourie then recruited him in 1996, after the death of two detectives at Primrose in an accident.

He joined Primrose in 1996 as a detective. While in Primrose, he was promoted to inspector, and in 2005, to the rank of captain.

He also acted as a branch commander.

Today, he is married to Ntombizodwa Caroline Masha, and blessed with four children, two boys and two girls.

His dedication and service have left a lasting impact on the communities he served.
