The service was presided over by Airport Christian Fellowship pastor John Wasserman.

Sone was baptised in his church, he added, and she was a member.

Wasserman posted a photo of Sone getting baptised and stated that, in his opinion, she was set free because she had accepted Jesus at that point.

Sone was an artist. He added; “She knew how to draw, and she loved it. She went to one of the church blackboards where I used to teach and sketched a picture as we played one of her favourite songs, Lion, by Brandon Lake.”

“Although we cannot possibly comprehend their situation, we can nevertheless feel sympathy for them.

“The father was a committed community member who greatly enhanced the provision of services in the area. He is no longer with us, but his contributions are still felt today,” said Hlongwane.

Kagiso Legotlo, the deputy chairperson of Ronderbult Residents’ Association, said the community grieves with the family.

Johannes Botha was buried on January 19 at the Thomas Titus Nkobi Memorial Park cemetery.
