Netball league brings teams together in Germiston

The ENA league features various divisions, including Under 11, 13, 15, and Opens (16 years and above).

Local netball teams are intensifying their preparations ahead of the Ekurhuleni Netball Association (ENA) league, which kicked off on March 28 and 29 at the Atlasville Courts.

A record 82 teams are participating in this year’s league, a significant increase of 40 teams from last year.

The Germiston Stadium netball courts have been abuzz with activities as teams like the Germiston Go Getters, Jennies on the Block, and Primrose Stars of Tomorrow Netball Club engaged in friendly matches to fine-tune their skills.

The ENA league features various divisions, including Under 11, 13, 15, and Opens (16 years and above).

The league is divided into regions, with Region A comprising teams from Ramaphosa, Germiston, Dinwiddie, and other areas.

“The development league is set to commence on April 5 at the Germiston Stadium, with the Primrose club competing in Pool B-2 across various age groups, including Under 11, 13, 15, Open, and Mixed.

“The club enjoyed success last year, winning the U11 league, while the Germiston Go Getters secured second place,” said Louise Mitchell of Germiston Go Getters.

“Teams will compete every second week of the month, with weekly practice sessions held at the stadium.

“The Primrose club conducts its practice sessions at the corner of Turnhout and 7th Avenue in Sunnyridge,” said Mitchell.
