The local artists were given the opportunity to showcase their art to the public.

Local artists were invited to exhibit their art at the Homecoming annual art exhibition on September 29.

The Askies! Art Collective hosted the show at Oak View Manor.

“We often provide the venue to various events,” said Dina Devine of the manor.

“And it was really special to be able to provide the venue for the artists to showcase their art, free of cost.”

Local artists Hester van Rensburg, Jeandi Nel, Bahle Ncube, Kayston Booysen, Andrew Machitje and Michiel Groenewald showcased their art to the public.

“We believe the arts should be celebrated more in Heidelberg and the surrounding areas,” said Temiah Booysen of the Askies! Art Collective.

“We want to give local artists a chance to show off their art and help them in that small way by introducing them to the public.

“It’s also wonderful that we could host the exhibition at Oak View Manor, which happens to be a hidden gem, just like our artists.”
