Chief Whip lends a hand to families for Christmas

“It is heartbreaking to witness other families celebrate the festive season while others can not even put food on the table.”

The Chief Whip of Gert Sibande District Municipality (GSDM), Mr Trevor Nkosi, donated food parcels to elderly and needy families at the Wesselton Community Hall last Wednesday.

This was part of his programme where he lends a helping hand to the less fortunate.

During his address before the hand-over, Mr Nkosi said their duty as politicians and leaders was to help and give back to the community.

“It is heartbreaking to witness other families celebrate the festive season while others can not even put food on the table.”

“I appeal to people in power and high positions to give back to the community instead of looking out for themselves,” he said.

The elderly accepted the gifts with ward leaders and councillors thanking him on behalf of the community for his generous contribution.

“Mr Nkosi is a blessing to us and the community and may his good work bring him blessings,” said Ms Phumzile Mashiane, Msukaligwa Municipality Chief Whip.
