As parents of two-year-olds will know, the boy would like a shiny, red ball, preferably one that makes noise, while the girl will accept a doll and pram with a winning smile.

The girls have already made up their minds that a dress and high heels are the way to go, having accessed mommy’s make-up since an early age.

A manicure looks inviting and cutex will probably find its way to the nails, the carpet and even clothes.

The boys have already developed a sophisticated approach to the cars they would like to drive one day.

Now on to the 10 to 12 year age group.

Don’t blame them to be on top of the technology-driven era with requests for cell phones, tablets and laptops.

Things seem to have changed as far as adults are concerned.

Many have decided that only children should be recipients of gifts and if not reaching that decision, a monetary limit is agreed upon when families exchange presents.

Santa understands the predicament fully and only wishes the Christmas spirit to prevail.

He is however, finalising last minute touch-ups to the sleigh and ensuring the reindeer have their shots before embarking on his annual trip.

Santa Claus has no intention of skipping Standerton and will see all of you, come rain or shine, for the joyful occasion.
