[UPDATE] Church Street at a standstill after diesel spilled during accident

Both lanes in Church Street leading to Pick n Pay are now open.

The one lane leading to Checkers is open while firefighters are still cleaning up the other lane where the diesel spilled.

ERMELO – Church Street is closed for traffic in both directions and motorists been requested to use alternative routes.

This is due to a diesel spillage after a bakkie, hauling the diesel in a trailer’s, wheel malfunctioned and the bakkie collided with another vehicle.

Emergency services are on the scene and fire fighters are trying to make the road safe.
