Here are the first things Ermelo residents are doing once the lockdown is done and dusted
For some, life after the lockdown will be completely different as the weeks they had to stay at home, forced them to re-evaluate.
With life pretty much on hold for most during the lockdown, residents of Ermelo have already begun making lists of the first things they will be doing after the lockdown is over.
For some, life after the lockdown will be completely different as the weeks they had to stay at home, forced them to re-evaluate.
According to residents we take everyday life, friends, family and health for granted.
The Highvelder asked residents what the first thing is they would do once the lockdown is over and here are some of the comments:
Nel Pretorius: “Give my husband a hug, which I have not seen since 23 March. Go to church to give God thanks for keeping us safe.”

Trinet Loverboy: “Go back to work in Limpopo, I miss work so bad…I’m tired of doing the same thing every day. I pray the president doesn’t extend it.”

Thokozile Mthimunye: “Go to Spur and have three glasses of Dom Pedro…and say thank you Lord I am free to go where ever I want.”

Andile Yende: “We gonna do party.”

Elaine Reyneke: “Work…and catch up with all my friends at work.”

Mxolisi Nkosi: “I will pray to thank God for protecting us in this havoc virus.”
One thing that is for sure is that most residents’ perspective of life changed, and perhaps when we return to ‘normal’, we will all be a little kinder to one another.
