Daytime housebreaking incidents increase sharply in Ermelo policing area

Ermelo residents face a growing burglary trend, with the CPF calling for heightened awareness and quick reporting.

ERMELO – Residents across multiple neighbourhoods in the Ermelo policing area are experiencing a significant increase in housebreaking incidents.

Multiple cases have been reported widely, with many occurring during the day.

Local community safety structures indicate that suspects are gaining entry into homes by forcing open burglar bars and accessing properties through windows.

Once inside, thieves target electronic goods.

Items commonly taken include televisions, sound systems, laptops, and cellular phones.

The trend has raised concern among local community safety representatives, who are calling for increased vigilance from residents across affected areas.

Community members are being urged to report any suspicious persons or unusual activity promptly to assist in preventing further incidents.

Jaco Kirk, CPF Chairperson for Ermelo, has appealed for public cooperation in addressing the situation. Suspicious activity can be reported to him on 081 325 7259.
