Ermelo residents urged to cast votes before Best of Ermelo deadline
With the deadline approaching, now is the time to add your vote and shape the Best of Ermelo results.
With the voting deadline fast approaching, residents are urged to cast their votes in the Best of Ermelo Readers’ Choice Awards before the window closes.
Community-driven process determines final outcomes
As a fully community-driven initiative, the outcome is determined entirely by the number of votes received.
This means the businesses, services, and individuals who actively encourage support from their customers and communities are ultimately the ones who will secure top honours.
Strong early momentum seen in selected categories
Voting momentum continues to grow, with the campaign already surpassing 13 000 votes in the previous week’s article, and further votes continuing to stream in since publication.
Some categories have already seen exceptional participation, with Glam It Up leading the way at 4 286 votes.
This category spans a wide range of beauty and personal care sub-categories, including:
- Best Barber Shop
- Best Hair Salon / Hairdresser
- Best Lash Tech
- Best Lash / Brow Services
- Best Make-up Artist
- Best Nail Tech
- Best Permanent Make-up
- Best Spa / Beauty Clinic
Equally, several other categories are also performing strongly, with Living, Kids, and Healthcare seeing particularly high levels of engagement as voting continues to build momentum ahead of the deadline.
Opportunities remain to strengthen category participation
At the same time, there is still an opportunity to further strengthen participation in other categories, which include:
- Shopping (1 089 votes)
- Motoring (968 votes)
- Home Improvement (517 votes)
It is therefore important for businesses and nominees to actively rally support.
This also presents meaningful exposure opportunities for both established businesses and those looking to grow their visibility within the community.
First edition sets foundation for future growth
As the very first Best of Ermelo Readers’ Choice Awards hosted in this area, it marks the beginning of what is intended to become an annual platform that continues to expand in reach and participation over time.
The results reflect the voices of Highvelder’s readers — as the name itself indicates (Highvelder’s Best of Ermelo Readers’ Choice Awards) — who engage with and support these businesses in their daily lives.
In that sense, the awards provide a clear reflection of the genuine preferences of participating voters, highlighting the businesses and services the community actively chooses to support and recognise.
With greater awareness of the initiative and how it operates, future editions are expected to attract even broader participation and stronger engagement, further strengthening its role as a community-driven reflection of local support and recognition.
To safeguard credibility, all results will be independently audited before winners are officially announced, with strict verification processes in place to identify and remove irregular voting activity.
Voting remains open until May 18. To have your say, visit highveldernews.co.za and click on the ‘Best Of’ tab.
