Ithafa Secondary School learners educated on renewable energy

An energy drive bus was used to introduce and demonstrate renewable energy technologies and the various applications.

WESSELTON – Ithafa Secondary School received a visit from the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA) who conducted an energy drive programme on September 20.

The programme which is in partnership with Durban University of Technology (DUT) was aimed at educating learners about the importance of renewable energy.

Ithafa’s grade nine and ten learners enjoyed the day as they engaged with SAWEA, DUT and Gert Sibande District Municipality’s facilitators.

An energy drive bus was used to introduce and demonstrate renewable energy technologies and the various applications.

Learners also received gift bags for their participation while some showed interest in joining SAWEA as part of their future endeavours.
