EDPC hits the mark

The Ermelo Defensive Pistol Club (EDPC) hosted its first league match at Vlakfontein Shooting Range on Saturday with 57 top-class participants competing in the eight-stage, Tier 2 match.
South African Defensive Pistol Association (SADPA) members from as far as Durban, Brits, Pretoria Johannesburg, Witbank and Middelburg attended the well organised event.
Visiting shooters were full of praise for the layout and facilities at the EDPC shooting range, saying it was “excellent” and one of the best they had seen.
The overall winner on the day was Flip du Plessis of the Griffin Tactical Shooting Club with a time of 123.32.
He was followed by John Whatley of EDPC in a time of 127.66 in second place with Glenn de Villiers of the Military Defensive Club in Pretoria in third place with a time of 139.04.
The remaining top ten positions went to Ruan Beneke, Jonathan du Plessis, Bester Maree, Musthakeem Sulaman, Alistair Webster, Manhar Parsotam and Hein Venter.
The winners in the respective divisions and classes were rewarded with medals.
The day’s proceedings ended with a delicious spit-braai supper.
