Pumas Women’s Rugby Team falls short against the Limpopo Blue Bulls
The friendly was a build-up to the U/18 National Women's Rugby Week where both teams participating in the event.

The Pumas women’s rugby team lost to the Limpopo Blue Bulls 25-24 on Sunday, in a friendly match at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium.
The local team fell short as they were outgunned by a Limpopo side who showed off their mettle to score five tries.
The friendly was a build-up to the U/18 National Women’s Rugby Week set to take place in Welkom next week from 3 July to 8 July, with both teams participating in the event.
The tournament hosts teams from all the provinces with the Pumas representing Mpumalanga. The team comes from humble beginnings, training in harsh conditions near the Mpumalanga Stadium in Wesselton and coached by Bongani Fakude.
The former rugby player introduced the sport to the township, putting more focus on women’s rugby, which has seen it grow with the women’s team flourishing despite financial constraints.
