Locals teams Blondies, Thundergirls, Camden and Func where on a mission to bring back local pride, which they did by winning all their matches which moved them up the log standings.

The third round of the Gert Sibande netball league took place on Saturday at the AJ Swanepoel Stadium with teams from across the district converging at the netball courts to battle it out.

Locals teams Blondies, Thundergirls, Camden and Func where on a mission to bring back local pride, which they did by winning all their matches which moved them up the log standings.

It was a low scoring third round with teams not pushing for more goals, but the match of the day had to be the Superfalcons A team who put 54 goals past Standerton’s A team who only managed 21.

The top four log standings after the weekend in the A League are Kinross A (first), Juventus A (second), Sakhile NC (third) with the high scoring Superfalcons A following them.

In the B League New Denmark Milan top the log, followed by Camden B, Windy City and locals Blondies rounding off the top four.

Juventus Males are in the lead in the male league, followed by Thunderboys and States Finest.

The season is living up to expectations as the battle lines have been drawn with teams making their intentions known.
