EHS cricket teams go head-on with local schools

The Erries battled with local schools in the cricket matches.

Hoërskool Ermelo’s U15 boys went head-on in a cricket match against Hoërskool Oosteland on August 16.

Hoërskool Oosteland scored 150 runs for the loss of six wickets during their innings.

Standouts for the Erries were Pierre Duvenage, who took two wickets for 26 runs, and Henco Boshoff with two wickets for 24 runs.

The Erries batted second and scored 132 runs.

Pierre Duvenage was best with the bat and scored 46 runs, and Hoërskool Oosterland won the match by 18 runs.

On the other hand, the girls cricket team played against Secunda High School, who scored 199 runs and lost two wickets on August 17.

EHS scored 98 runs all out. Secunda High School won the game by 101 runs.

Another game against EHS and Ligbron took place on the same day.

Ligbron was the first team to bat and were bowled out for 123 runs with the second-last ball of their innings.

EHS’s bowler, Nicky van Rensburg, stood out by picking up four wickets.
