Snyman to navigate for Strauss during Cartrack Ermelo National Rally

ERMELO – The excitement is mounting over the coming weekend’s Cartrack Ermelo National Rally which runs from September 9 to 10.

In new developments, this weekend, Luné Snyman will team up with Johan Strauss as navigator.

Snyman is definitely no stranger to the rally scene and operated as the Lunatic Rally Team’s first driver when they initially began competing.

This will however be her first involvement in the Womza National Rally as she is mostly recognized for competing in the National Rally Championship (NRC).

Elzaan Venter, who served as Strauss’ initial navigator, will make her driving debut this weekend behind the wheel of one of the cars Strauss has made available to her for the weekend.

Since Snyman will only be navigating for the second time and Venter will be driving for the first time, rally fans will certainly want to keep a close eye on how they fare.

Speaking to Highvelder, Snyman said, “I am teeming with excitement, the roads have been well prepared and the spirit of excitement surrounding the event and racers are contagious.”

As much as she said she has no inhibitions, she said that it is imperative that she and Strauss get in sync quickly because this is her first time navigating for him and he is a current front runner.

“In the short time we had to test the car, I could see he has a good balance between speed and time, as well as completing the stage and getting the car to the finish line intact. He also has a lot of respect for his car. I feel very privileged to be able to set the pace as navigator and ride with one of the leaders,” she concluded.
