Dog show champ competes at Crufts

Local lad Duncan Scott competed as a handler in an international dog show recently.

PINETOWN resident, Duncan Scott, jetted off to England to represent South Africa in the world’s largest dog show, Crufts, and made the top 10 at the weekend.

Dog shows have become an important part of Duncan’s life and he firmly believes that dogs are man’s best friend. Last year he competed in and won at the championship show level and was later invited to take part in the nationals in Johannesburg. He won the prestigious national title of South African Junior handler.

He represented South Africa at Crufts, the world’s largest dog show in England, and competed against junior handlers from 45 countries for the coveted title of International Junior Handler. According to spectators he showed his dog like a professional and did South Africa proud when he was shortlisted into the top 10 of his category.
