Caitlin cares for children with disabilities

Grade 6 pupil, Caitlin Botha, is Atholl Heights Primary School's SPAR Star of the Month.

ATHOLL Heights Primary School has chosen Grade 6 pupil, Caitlin Botha, as its SPAR Star of the Month.

Pathways is a centre for children with severe cognitive and physical disabilities based in Westville. The centre provides care education for disabled children and their families.

Caitlin undertook to organise a collection of clothing, toys and educational material that she then donated to the centre. She has raised awareness of this project by means of letters that were sent home to all parents and with updates posted on the school communicator. She has also given talks to classes at Atholl Heights Primary School to educate others about the Pathways Centre.

The school’s acting principal, Lloyd Wing, said it is wonderful to see such a mature and caring attitude in one so young and the school is extremely proud of her.
