Thieves have a field day in Hillary

A man walked away unharmed after an armed robbery.

A MAN on his way to make a pizza delivery on Norton Road in Hillary was stopped by three armed men in a white car. They descended from the car and threatened him with firearms.

The victim was instructed to lie flat on the ground and was searched by the men.

They then drove away with cash takings from previous deliveries to the value of R3 064.80. No shots were fired and the victim was unharmed.

In a separate incident at approximately 7.45pm on Fifth Street in Hillary on Friday, 28 August, a man was watching television in his lounge when he noticed three men enter through the open lounge door. One pointed a firearm at him while the other two tied him up with a shoe lace.

They requested the keys to the safe and searched the house. The three men fled with a TV, amplifier, satellite decoder and cash to the value of R5 000. No shots were fired and police are still investigating.
