Durban doctor vies for Mrs South Africa title
Nomusa Madlala was recently announced as a semi-finalist in the Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa.
DOCTOR Nomusa Madlala, well known as Mam Sphithiphithi from the Highway area, was recently announced as a Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa semi-finalist for 2019.
She has a passion for empowering women and is the founder of Sakha Isizwe Ngomuntu Wesifazane as well as the Prominent Women Awards. She also runs programmes that cover teenage pregnancy, drug abuse and crime must fall.
To top off her impressive resume, she wrote a book titled, Mother and Daughter-in-law.
Her journey began at the beginning of March where she joined the other beautiful, sophisticated and married contestants for the second National Casting and Empowerment workshop at Emperors Palace. Once selected, the semi-finalists attended weekend-long workshops to help them prepare for the journey ahead.

Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa is a journey that is akin to a women empowerment programme and prides itself on producing the very best in down to earth, relatable and modern South African women. The programme celebrates the essence of being a woman as well as marriage.
“The keys that will unlock the door to my personal excellence are my desire to succeed, the urge to reach my full potential and my will to win Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa 2019,” said Nomusa.
Only 25 lucky women will be selected to continue the journey, as finalists for Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa. The finalists will be announced at the annual charity ball on 28 June at Centre Court at Emperors Palace. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the pageant’s official charity, Women4Women South Africa.
